This Advanced Stirling Convertor is considered the workhorse element of a new generation of radioisotope power systems. Image credit: NASA How do you get clinical objectives into deep room or shady environments and keep them operating securely and successfully for lots of years? It takes trusted, reliable power systems that last a long time. A new generation of electrical power systems for possible objectives to a few of the darkest, coldest areas in the solar system and beyond is under development by Sunpower, Inc. , an Ohio-based business working with NASA Glenn Research Center, the Department of Energy (DOE) and Lockheed Martin. Sunpower just recently demonstrated the newest version of its Advanced Stirling Convertor (ASC). The ASC is the vital "workhorse" element of this new generation of radioisotope power systems, which are known as Advanced Stirling Radioisotope Generators (ASRGs).

"The convertors manufactured by Sunpower have completed early tests and will continue to be tested to demonstrate key aspects of the expected operation of the flight units."

Key:

  • Aggregate Sentiment is meant to be an indicator of an individual's overall sentiment.
  • The Mean is meant to be an indicator of an individual's average comment sentiment.
  • The Standard Deviation, when there are enough quotes, will indicate an individual's consistency of sentiment (i.e. a Standard Deviation of 0 would mean they were very consistent in their sentiment and 1 would mean they were very inconsistent).

Note that quote stats are likely to be meaningless beyond the aggregate score due to the tiny sample size. However, they are always provided just in case you find something useful there.
